Yesterday was Albert Pujols’ last regular season game in St Louis. There was a pregame ceremony to honor him, Yadier Molina, and Adam Wainwright. His team lost (7-5 vs the Pirates), but he gave the crowd reasons to cheer. In the 1st he hit a ground rule double (double #686 of his career). In the 3rd he added home run #702. The RBIs tied him unofficially with Babe Ruth at 2214, second most all time. (Officially he had already passed Ruth as the RBI was not an official stat until 1920.) Going in style indeed.
#703 in Pittsburgh tonight
