Last night the Twins beat the Tigers 7-0. It was the 22nd time this season the Tigers got shut out. That’s a new record since the advent of the designated hitter…eclipsing the previous record of 21 shared by the 1973 Yankees and 1976 White Sox.
After they went 81-81 last year, I honestly thought they were a team on the rise. Not so much, at least not this year.
They were going against the Twin’s emerging young Ace, Joe Ryan. You can congratulate him if you want to.

Usually, having a record setting offense is something to celebrate. But when you have 13 players with over 150 plate appearances and only one of them has an OPS over .700 & an OPS+ over 100, this result isn’t surprising.
