Uh, Congratulations?

Last night the Twins beat the Tigers 7-0. It was the 22nd time this season the Tigers got shut out. That’s a new record since the advent of the designated hitter…eclipsing the previous record of 21 shared by the 1973 Yankees and 1976 White Sox.

After they went 81-81 last year, I honestly thought they were a team on the rise. Not so much, at least not this year.

  1. Usually, having a record setting offense is something to celebrate. But when you have 13 players with over 150 plate appearances and only one of them has an OPS over .700 & an OPS+ over 100, this result isn’t surprising.
