Don Mattingly’s contract to manage the Florida Marlins is up at the end of the season. He announced today it will not be renewed. It’s being portrayed as a mutual decision, so I will take their word for it.
He’s been the skipper for the Marlins for seven years. He has the most wins of any Marlins manager and ended a 17-year playoff drought in 2020. He also only had that one non-losing campaign…and it was a 60 game season shortened by COVID-19.
I expect Old Gator to replace him, assuming he’s not too busy cooking.

Sadly, Gator would refuse in protest of the NL adopting the DH.
