Yankees Got No-Hit Saturday

Saturday three Astros combined to no-hit the Yankees. It was the third no-hitter so far this season. No-hitters, particularly combined no-hitters, aren’t particularly rare anymore. Complete games, however, seem to be going the way of the dodo bird. No, the most interesting thing about this game is that it was the Yankees on the receiving end—partly because they’ve been hot all season, partly because they hadn’t gotten no-hit in 19 years.

  1. There has been 12 complete games so far, spread out among 10 of the 30 teams. About 1,110 games have been played so far which works out to a complete game happening in 1 of 92.5 games. Hey that’s better than 1 in 100!

May it also be noted that on Saturday your beloved Twins inflicted a combined 1 hit shut out on the Rockies
