Today Scott Kazmar Jr pinch hit for the Braves against the Cubs. Hit grounded into a double play. Okay, that’s not the cool part. The cool part is: it was his first major league at bat since September 2008 with the Padres, almost 13 years ago. The 36-year-old never gave up, had played AA-AAA every season since (other than last year of course since there was no minor league season). That level of dedication and perseverance is worth noting and applause.
