—He said he doesn’t believe this will hurt his chances of getting in the Hall of Fame. (I agree, because he already has zero chance.)
—He said it’s not hurting Rob Manfred. (True, but that’s not the point.)
—He said he won’t be using his picks himself to bet on baseball. (If you believe that, I’ve got some land 5 miles west of St Pete to sell you.)
—He said he’s not giving a black eye to baseball. (How could he? He hasn’t really been part of baseball for 30 years.)
Fan Interference 
Tempest in a teapot. So he makes some money. And, frankly, so he bets on baseball. So what? He’s neither playing nor managing a team anymore.
