Prof: We’ve been doing the morning scores for several years now and I don’t think we’ve ever featured Annie Lennox as music of the day. I’m fixing that.

Cardinals 3, Brewers 18 – Prof: I am convinced that the ball is so juiced that you could call them Florida’s Natural. Some of these offensive onslaughts are just ridiculous. For example, in this game, we had Ryan Braun playing like it was 2012 again. Dan Vogelbach went 3-4 with 4 RBI. Keston Hiura also had 4 ribbies.

Braves 5, Orioles 1 – Prof: After being made speechless yesterday because of that incredible score, life makes sense again to this Atlanta fan. The rotation is currently a Rays special, in that they are putting back end guys together to pitch the whole game. It’s out of necessity. Thankfully the bats are (mostly) red hot. Freddie F’n Freeman continues to play MVP caliber ball for bargain prices. Two RBI doubles and he’s currently sitting at .352 batting average. Oh, and Adam Duvall has hit 10 dingers IN SEPTEMBER ALONE. He’s tied the record of legendary Braves Dale Murphy and Chipper Jones. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Rangers 1, Astros 4 – Prof: Houston is back at .500. George Springer and Martin Maldonado both hit home runs.

Spiders 5, Cubs 6 – Scouts: A wild back and forth game where Chicago blew a two run lead in the 9th, only to come back and win it thanks to a walk-off hit by pitch.

Royals 0, Tigers 6 – Scouts: The Tigers picked up their first shutout on the year thanks to Matthew Boyd, who allowed just two hits over 5.2 innings. Miguel Cabrera, who I forgot was even still playing picked up his 6th homer of the year in the 3rd.

Mets 1, Phillies 4 – Prof: Philadelphia wins, but at what cost? Jake Arrieta left the game with an injury, but the Phriends of the Phanatic kept on going. A Didi Gregorius two run blast put them on top permanently.

Blue Jays 6, Yankees 20 – Scouts: Do you like homers? Because the Yankees got homers. Six of them to be exact. Two of them by Luke Voit alone! Also going yard was Aaron Hicks, Gary Sanchez, Clint Frazier, and DJ LeMahieu. The Yankees do seem to be back baby.

A’s 1, Rockies 3 – Scouts: Colorado got the rare 9 inning lockdown performance from a starter, as Antonio Senzatela kept the AL West division leaders at bay the entire game allowing just 6 hits and 1 run. Oakland’s been slumping as of late, winning just half of their last 10 games, however thanks to Houston’s total collapse, they haven’t lost any ground.

Nats 1, Rays 6 – Scouts: The Rays went back to the bullpen day, as they get ready for the playoffs. John Curtiss started for 1.1 innings of no hit ball, who was then relieved by Ryan Yarbrough who then kept the defending champs to just 1 run over the next 5.2.

D-backs 9, Angels 8 – Scouts: Arizona went homer happy thanks to Kole Calhoun, Daulton Varsho, Carson Kelly, Kole Calhoun again, and finally David Peralta. The only reason the game was as close as it was, was because all but one of those dingers were solo shots.

Pirates 1, Reds 4 – Prof: Cincinnati scored their first run of the night thanks to the Moose being hit by a pitch, and ended with Tucker Barnhart mashing a solo dinger.

Red Sox 2, Marlins 0 – Prof: Surprise, Bobby Dalbec didn’t get a hit! But Jackie Bradley Jr did. A fellow named Tanner Houck won his first game. He went five shutout innings. Congrats, kid.

Twins 2, White Sox 6 – Scouts: In a game Minnesota really needed to win, Chicago trotted out rookie Dane Dunning, making just his 5th career start, none of which were as high profile as this one. But Dunning rose to the challenge allowing just one earned run over 7 strong innings. Minnesota is losing chances to take back the division and it looking more and more like they’ll be a wild card entry in the post-season.

Dodgers 3, Padres 1 – Scouts: LA got back on the winning track thanks to Tony Gosolin’s 7 innings of 4 hit, 1 run ball. The win gives LA a more comfortable 2.5 game lead for NL champs.
