Au contraire. Christmas in London is wonderful. I’ve spent quite a few there. It doesn’t snow much but the lights and the general atmosphere of bonhomie, and the widespread caroling, more than make up for it.
It’s my understanding that traditionally Brits open their Christmas presents on December 26, a.k.a., Boxing Day, and I was trying to draw a parallel between that and the delayed Opening Day for the Nats and Reds.
Reds fans might be the most longsuffering group of folks in baseball. Years after years of a lousy team, no respect for one of the greatest players of our generation, and now this. I feel bad for them.
Meanwhile in Baltimore it’s looking like it’ll be a perfect 72 degrees with mild wind and a handful of clouds.

I’ve never had a British Christmas – is it bad?

It’s only bad if the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come pays a visit.
