Y’all know me. Y’all know what I love – pitchers, pitchers shaped like middle aged dads, pitchers who actually ARE middle aged dads, pitchers who bat, pitchers who field, and mascots (come on, I have to have a little variety in life). I’ve got a little of column A and a little of column B tonight.
Our friends over at Deadspin posted this great story about a college pitcher from the West Virginia Mountaineers who fits into three categories – pitchers, pitchers who field, and pitchers who look like middle aged dads. Behold.
He’s got Dad Bod and I dig it. Although it could just be that bad uniform doing him no favors (or is it all the favors? You decide).
Isn’t that great? I love it for all the reasons. ALL THE REASONS.

Pitchers with dad bods are not uncommon, but how about a thrower from another sport that doesn’t normally allow such things? The Hefty Lefty himself, Jared (no relation to Michael that I’m aware of) Lorenzen.
