The Chicago Cubs organization have been reported to have entered contract negotiations again to re-sign free agent infielder Munenori Kawasaki today after his recent release by the team, according to the report. Further updates will be provided.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon, and GM Theo Epstein wanted him and his happy attitude to comeback resulting them to enter negotiations. The contract will still be on a minor league deal, but the team will respect whatever decision Kawasaki has to make on the table, whether it’s a return to play again in Japan, or to stay in the United States.
Munenori Kawasaki is currently batting .282/.378/.762 with 39 at-bats this spring training.
