Free Agent Darin Ruf will be playing his next season with the Samsung Lions in the KBO, an announcement was made just today. The announced contract details for Ruf was said to be on a one year deal that’s worth an estimated 1.1 million USD via Naver Sports.
Samsung originally went with infielder Mauro Gomez last month as a player who’ll replace for the released Aarom Baldiris, but the deal eventually broke down due to Gomez not taking the team’s physical test in Korea as the team made its preparation for the Okinawa Spring Camp.
With this acquisition, the Samsung Lions have now fulfilled the league’s 3 foreign player limit quota in Anthony Ranuado, Zack Petrick, and Darin Ruf for the upcoming season.
The right-hander hitter Darin Ruf played for 5 seasons there in the Majors, mainly with the Phillies organization. He finished his 2016 campaign batting .205/.314/.433 with 3 homeruns and 9 RBIs in 43 games played last year.
