San Francisco Giants infielder, Ramiro Pena, 31 years of age, will be playing his next season in NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the Central league, an announcement was made just today. According to the report, the contract details for Ramiro Pena regarding about annual salary is still not yet known at the moment (though his current team in Mexico have already confirmed about the move, and is stated to be on a one-year deal), but will be soon released in the upcoming days… Pena will replace former Carp infielder Hector Luna there at 3rd base, who was released by the organization last year in the off-season.
The Mexican born infielder, Ramiro Pena, played for 7 seasons there at the Major league level (with the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, and San Francisco Giants respectively). Pena currently owns a batting line of .252/.293/.343 with 9 homeruns and 63 RBIs in 341 career games played (701 plate appearances, 644 at-bats), he finished his 2016 regular season campaign batting .299/.330/.425 with 1 homerun and 10 RBIs in 30 games (91 plate appearances, 87 at-bats) last year with the Giants.
This post inspired me to remove the Hiroshima Toyo Carp mini-bobblehead keychain from the plastic bag in which we bought it ten years ago and hang the key from our new Nissan Versa on it.
