Masahiro Tanaka, winning CY Young award as main objective this year

New York Yankees ace starting pitcher, Masahiro Tanaka, 28 years of age, is setting the bar up high on what he wants to accomplish this upcoming season, Tanaka said that his main objective this year is to win the Cy Young award according to an interview by Japan’s TBS, and is pretty confident that he might achieve just that… he’ll be the first ever Japanese pitcher in Major league history if he wins the CY award.

Masahiro Tanaka has been really solid this season even with the lingering injury, as he finished his 2016 campaign with a record of 14-4, and an earned run average of 3.07 in 31 games started (199.2 innings pitched) last year, so winning this prestigious award is nay impossible if he keeps performing like he’s used to. Tanaka currently owns a record of 39-16 in the Majors, and an earned run average of 3.12 in 75 career games (490 innings pitched), and was also an all-star in year 2014 during his first year debut in the big leagues.
