Lee Dae-ho back with the Busan Lotte Giants

Free Agent infielder/designated hitter, RH hitter Lee Dae-ho, 34 years of age, is now back to his former team in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) with the Busan Lotte Giants, an official announcement was made just today. According to the report, the contract details for Lee was said to be on a 4-year deal that’s worth an estimated 15 billion Won (12.9 million USD), Lotte has shown some serious interest in him for quite a while now ever since their star 3rd baseman, Hwang Jae-gyun, left the club in favor to play ball in the United States.

Lee Dae-ho was not retained by the Seattle Mariners this off-season, and has other options to choose between the NPB, KBO, or a minor league offer in the United States… but ultimately decided to return to his former team in the KBO, after finally accomplishing his lifelong dream to play in the Major leagues last year.

The South Korean native, Lee Dae-ho, finished his 2016 rookie season campaign in the Majors batting .253/.312/.428 with 14 homeruns and 49 RBIs in 104 games played last year, splitting time between DH, and 1B as back-up for Adam Lind.

  1. a little tidbit that has nothing to do with the KBO, today in 1935, the first canned beer was marketed, making it easier to get served ( and drunk ) at the ballpark.
Hooray for the Krueger Brewing Company.
