Hanshin Tigers hires Jose Fernandez

The Hanshin Tigers of the NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) Central league have announced today that they have hired Jose Fernandez, 42, as their “Special Scout” in Latin- America (mainly in the Dominican Republic), an advisory role with the organization in negotiating deals with foreign players in the country will also be considered… with his reputation in Japan, there is no doubt in mind that it will make things easier for Hanshin to acquire new foreign reinforcement coming from the DR who are looking for an opportunity to play in NPB.

Jose Fernandez played briefly in the Major leagues with the Montreal Expos, and Anaheim Angels (Los Angeles Angels) respectively in year 1999-2001. He then went to play overseas in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) afterwards with the SK Wyverns in 2002… and NPB, where he spent most of his career, and ended from year 2003-2013, he owns a batting line of .282/.348/.472 with 206 homeruns and 772 RBI in 1253 games played overall in Japan.
