Miami Marlins left-handed pitcher, Elvis Araujo, 25, will be playing his next in NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) with the Chunichi Dragons of the Central league, an announcement was made just today. According to the report, Araujo’s team in Venezuela have already confirmed about the recent acquisition (one-year deal), contract details regarding about annual salary is still yet to be known, he will most likely be used as a setup man for the upcoming season in Japan.
The Venezuelan born Elvis Araujo played for 2 years there at the Major league level with the Philadelphia Phillies. He currently owns a record of 4-2, along with an earned run average of 4.35 in 72 games played (62 innings pitched) in his big league career, primarily as a reliever. Araujo finished his 2016 regular season campaign with the Phillies this year posting a record of 2-1 and an earned run average of 5.60 in 32 games (27.1 innings pitched) in the year, he was then claimed off waivers by the Miami Marlins last month in November 18 of this year.
