Cleveland Indians signs Travis Banwart to minor league deal

The Cleveland Indians organization just signed right-handed pitcher Travis Banwart, 30 years of age, on a minor league deal that likely includes a spring training invite for the upcoming year… an announcement was made this afternoon, according to the report.

Travis Banwart spent most of his 2014-2016 season in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) with the SK Wyverns, and KT Wiz respectively. He finished his 2016 regular season campaign with the KT Wiz posting an unremarkable record of 6-13, along with an earned run average of 5.95 in 28 games played (134 2/3 innings pitched) primarily as a starter, which resulted to his release. Playing for 3 years in the KBO league, he compiled a record of 20-17 and an earned run average of 4.92 in 51 games played (257 2/3 innings pitched).
