It is official, the Hanwha Eagles retained Wilin Rosario on a one-year contract extension worth an estimated 1.7 billion Won (1.5 million USD), according to the report.
Wilin Rosario, 27, is expected to remain in the KBO (Korean Professional Baseball) this year for the upcoming season. According to the report, the Hanwha Eagles are now close to retaining Rosario on a one-year deal, an official announcement by the organization showing his contract details will soon be released in a few days. Back in October of this year, after the KBO league season, Rosario stated that he would like to make a comeback to play once again in the Major leagues… but, for now, it’s highly unlikely.
Wilin Rosario, in his very first season in South Korea, posted very solid numbers batting .321/.369/.593 with 33 homeruns and 120 RBI in 127 games played (532 PA, with 492 AB) in the regular season, mostly playing as the team’s 1B/DH. He also made it to the All-star team this year.
