Official: Roger Bernadina signs with KIA Tigers

It is official, free agent outfielder, Roger Bernadina, 32, will now be playing his next season with the KIA Tigers in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization), an announcement was made just today. According to the report, the contract details for Bernadina was said to be on a one-year deal worth an estimated 1 billion Won (850,000 USD in annual salary).

Roger Bernadina played for 7 seasons there at the Major league level (Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles Dodgers respectively). He owns a batting line of .236/.307/.354 with 28 homeruns and 121 RBI in 548 games played (1480 PA, along with 1323 AB) in his big league career.

    • I was surprised too when I saw his name popped up in the news as well. I really thought he’s playing for a different league now somewhere in the Caribbean.

      It’s still Intrams week for us here so there’s nothing much to do other than watching campus activities, might as well dig up some time to write some Asian Baseball News (in the library!). 😀
