Samsung Lions left-handed starting pitcher, Cha Woo-chan, 29, is currently having talks to a couple of Major league teams in the US. Via link, the name of these teams are not yet known… but have been reported to have shown interest in signing the southpaw starter Cha on a deal (likely a one-year deal).
Cha Woo-chan is currently an international Free Agent, and will no longer be subjected to posting bids. He played for the Samsung Lions in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) for 11 seasons, and has been also regarded as one of the star pitchers in the league alongside Yang Hyeon-jong, and Kim Kwang-hyun (who are also interested in playing in the big leagues next year).
In his KBO league career, he currently owns a record of 70-48 with an earned run average of 4.44 in 353 games played (1068 1/3 innings pitched) primarily as a starter, not really bad knowing the KBO is a well known hitter-friendly league. He finished his 2016 regular season campaign posting a 12-6 record, along with an earned run average of 4.73 in 24 games started (152 1/3 innings pitched, 16 quality starts).
Cha Woo-chan sports a fastball that ranges around 140-147 kph (150 kph max), a changeup, and a decent slider (his best pitch).
