Cleveland 4, Toronto 2
Prof: Well, folks, this was a bloody good game. Get it? GET IT?!? No, seriously, Trevor Bauer gave it his best shot, but a torrent of blood wrecked his start before it even really began. Let that be a lesson to you, kids, don’t slice your fingers open on razor sharp drone blades before an important start. But that doesn’t stop the Magical Land of Cleve, who apparently has ZERO CHILL.
They don’t need Bauer Outage. They just need Hobo Andrew Miller and a raging kegger at Napoli’s.
Scouts: The Indians bullpen came up clutch as they have been all post-season. This is just further proof in the necessity for a shutdown bullpen. This game could have swung the series back in Toronto’s favor. The Indians getting a super short start out of Bauer, the bullpen getting heavily used, and then tomorrow, Kluber going on short rest. This game was a big opportunity the Jays whiffed on. Toronto continues to struggle hitting with men in scoring position and has been unable to come up with that big clutch hit all series. Now with their backs against the wall, it’s time to put up or shut up.
Prof: So, here’s the basic rundown.
It was back and forth all evening. Cleveland drew first blood, and then in the second inning the Blue Jays battled back with a Saunders home run. Another run each, then Tito’s boys rallied in the sixth with two runs – a solo homer from Jason Kipnis, while Napoli scored on a Ramirez single.
Game four, tomorrow, will feature a short rest start from the monstrous Corey Kluber as Cleveland looks to get to their first World Series since 1997. The Blue Jays, playing at home, will need a lot of home cooking (poutine? I love poutine) to come back to get to their own long awaited return to the World Series.
I’m just gonna leave this here…

So, do the Indians smell blood in the water?

My favorite pun was: “Francona was able to stitch together the bullpen in order to stop the bleeding against the Blue Jays.”

That was gross and I was a little traumatized seeing it. I enjoyed Sheffield’s little dig at Schilling, post-game. Also, Sheffield was killing the style game too.
I wasn’t sure the Indians’ BP could hang on in Toronto, but they did ok. Doubt it will go so well for them tonight.
