Mets Sign Tim Tebow to Minor League Deal

Let’s be honest, we all thought it was going to be the Braves, because that kind of foolishness makes sense for them. But no, New York decided that they had to get themselves some of that sweet Tebow action.

Just as no one predicted, Tebow signed a minor league deal with the Mets organization, who will join the Instructional League team in Port St. Lucie soon. Arizona League rosters have been set, but seeing as how a Winter Ball team in Venezuela has offered him a deal, if the Mets think that Tebow has what it takes he may go down there.

Despite what many people say is a below average throwing arm, Tebow will try his hand at being a corner outfielder, according to USA Today Sports.

  1. Tebow’s religious fundamentalism is a cultural atavism that I hope is melting (however slowly) away from human civilization, but you gotta love any young man who wears his heart on his sleeve the way Tebow does. I know he probably won’t but I hope he makes it, it would be entirely consistent with baseball, marking the time.
