Sorry for the late post. My A/C has been struggling for a few days and finally went out yesterday. Had to have the repair guys come out twice before we finally got it up and running again. I’m not sure if you’ve ever had to sleep in 85+ humidity, but it doesn’t work very well. So it’s a bit of a late start for me. Anyways, let’s get to it.
Chris Sale simply does not get it. Maybe 5 days isn’t enough.
Phillies 4, Marlins 0 – Prof: Jeremy Hellickson did not get the win, but he does improve his trade value with six excellent innings. The whole game was scoreless until the eighth, when Tommy Joseph’s double brought Maikel Franco home.
Diamondbacks 2, Brewers 7 – Prof: Mar-teeeeeeeen Maldonado goes 2-3 with a homer and 3 RBI in this Brew Crew win over the gritty Snakes. My small son Scooter Gennett hit a home run in the first inning, the second longest homer of his career! Congrats, Scoots!
A’s 6, Rangers 7 – Remember when no one wanted Ian Desmond? He just hit number 19. Beltre also hit a pair of homers in the win including a walk-off.
Cubs 4, White Sox 5 – Frazier hit number 29 as the Cubs lose their first game post Chapman trade.http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/mp4/2016/07/26/970399783/1469504262380/asset_1800K.mp4
Tigers 4, Red Sox 2 – Prof: Don’t look now, but Justin Verlander has now reached 10 wins on the season.
Rockies 2, Orioles 3 F/10 – The Orioles walked it off in back to back games. This one was aided by multiple miscues.
Yankees 2, Astros 1 – Prof: Dallas Keuchel gets the loss. Andrew Miller gets the save. Is he the Yankees’ new dedicated closer now that Chapman has moved on up to the North Side?
Angels 6, Royals 2 – Pujols had 4 RBI’s in the win.
Padres 2, Blue Jays 4 – Prof: Aaron Sanchez – the pitcher, not the celebrated taco chef – gets the win, his 11th of the season. Kevin Pillar continues to impress.
Reds 7, Giants 5 – Jay Bruce hit a pair as the Giants slump continues.
Cardinals, Mets – PP
