The Midnight Snack – Friday

We made it, fam! We made it to Friday. Not that it means anything, I still have to work on Saturday mornings, but hopefully you all will have an awesome weekend.

Got any plans? The new Star Trek movie comes out and as many of you know, I’m a huge Star Trek nerd. I have the IDIC tattooed on my left wrist. If you don’t know what the IDIC is, don’t worry too much about that, but if you do, then you understand.

I’ve also been spending the evening submitting resumes in the hope that someone will call me for an interview soon, and I don’t have to worry about a job when I relocate. Wish me luck, guys.

In the meantime, here are a few baseball related things to start our weekend off right, and I’ll talk to y’all later.

95% sure that Jon Lucroy is out of Milwaukee before the end of the trade deadline. The best rumors have him and middle relief pitcher Will Smith (or, as I call him, Big Willy Style) going to the Magical Land of Cleve. A lot of people say that contending clubs don’t trade for starting catchers during the season, but the Indians are a little bit different because their go-to guy, Yan Gomes, is out indefinitely, and they need a quality backstop who also has some pop in his bat. Lucroy is probably one of the best players available out there right now. Why wouldn’t you trade for him if you could get him? Luckily for me, Ben Lindburgh agrees with my analysis.

If you don’t love Jose Altuve… well, I just don’t know. He’s the best, and my early vote for AL MVP right now.

This is a Scout special.

Here’s hoping, buddy. Here’s hoping.
