Report coming from JP sports Sanspo shimbun link above, the NPB league team Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles (of the Pacific League) are set to pursue, and sign outfielder Carlos Peguero, 29 years of age, of the St. Louis Cardinals this season on a one-year deal, the team have already established contact, and are said to be now on the final stages of the negotiations… the Dominican born, Carlos Peguero, is expected to join the Rakuten Eagles team within this month (currently working on his visa), as replacement for losing outfielder/DH Jonny Gomes from his unexpected retirement from the league back in May 6th… Will be providing more updates of this soon if the deal’s been finalized.
