Prof: We’re nearing the end of the week, friends. staring at calendar intensifies
Brewers 9, Pirates 5 – Prof: Even with an error, the Brewers put a hurting on Pittsburgh. Shortstop Jonathan Villar went 3-4, driving in a run. How many more games, though, will All-Star and actual star Jonathan Lucroy be in a Brewers uniform? Inquiring minds want to know.
Rangers 4, Angels 7 – Prince Fielder will likely miss the remainder of the season with a herniated disk in his neck. Texas has now dropped 8 of their last 10.
Braves 3, Reds 6 – Prof: Joey Votto produces his 16th home run of the year against that sad Triple-A team masquerading as the Atlanta Braves.
Mets 2, Cubs 6 – Prof: Now, that’s more like it. My boy, Heart and Hustle Award winner Anthony Rizzo, hits two home runs, with 3 RBI.
Twins 4, Tigers 1 – Minnesota has won all of their games since firing Terry Ryan.
Indians 11, Royals 4 – Prof: Tyler Naquin, you son of a gun. Two homers (sounds like a broken record today, right?) against the BBQ Boys, and Cookie Carrasco gets the win. #PartyAtNapolis
Marlins 1, Phillies 4 – Wei-Yin Chen is not earning that big payday so far this year.
Giants 7, Red Sox 11 – Prof: A high scoring, huge hitting affair in Boston brings the Red Sox to the AL East lead. Matt Cain is currently 1-6 for San Francisco. Henley Ramirez mashed three home runs in this one.
Padres 2, Cardinals 4 (Game 1) – The Padres lose out on an excellent opportunity to double dip the Cardinals.
Padres 2, Cardinals 3 (Game 2) – Prof: A double header because of last night’s rain out.
Rays 11, Rockies 3 – Prof: Looks like the Rays are back for the time being. Chris Archer looked sharp, while former Rockies player Corey Dickerson made Colorado wish he was still rocking the purple.
Astros 7, Athletics 0 – Fister pitched 7 scoreless to get the Astros back on track.
White Sox 5, Mariners 6 F/11 – Leonys Martin jacked two bombs in this one, the second one a 2 run walk off to beat the Sox.
Blue Jays 10, D’Backs 4 – Prof: Why do I always initially write Bleu Jays”? Am I trying to put the team in Montreal? No matter in what language, the Blue Jays are red hot. The ol’ Bringer of Rain himself, Josh Donaldson, went oppo as Toronto demolished Arizona.
Orioles 0, Yankees 5 –Thanks to a 4 game skid, the Orioles have fallen out of first place, now trailing the Red Sox by half a game.
Dodgers 1, Nationals 8 – Prof: H/T to COPO, who told me about Bryce Harper’s MONSTER homer. It was his only hit of the night, but it was a doozy. The Dodgers really miss Clayton Kershaw right about now.
