Feesh sign Arlo Guthrie by mistake, thinking he was Tim Lincecum

The Marlins have signed veteran right-hander Arlo Guthrie, pending a physical, a source confirmed to MLB.com on Monday. Guthrie will report to Triple-A New Orleans upon completion of the physical. The deal was first reported by Rolling Stone’s Ken Rosenthal.

The 69-year-old Guthrie was apparently signed by mistake because of his former close resemblance to the yoreful Tim Lincecum:

Guthrie has never pitched in the major leagues, but his father occasionally wrote songs about baseball and he not only fits Scrooge McLoria’s major league minimum salary requirements, but he brings yonks of VETERAN PRESENCE.

Guthrie will join the Nawlins Zephyrs and work to strengthen his arm and shrink his right armpit.
