
Former Major league pitcher, Felipe Paulino (フェリペ・ポーリーノ), 32 years of age, just agreed to sign a one-year deal worth at least 60 million Yen (added incentives) with the NPB team Seibu Lions, in the Pacific League (reported yesterday via JP NHK sports news), a press conference will be made in May 31st. Paulino was just released recently by the Cleveland Indians organization a couple of days ago (May 28th), for him to have an opportunity to play in Japan. NPB teams previously scouted Felipe Paulino during the Inaugural WBSC Premier 12 (World Baseball Softball Confederation) tourney that was being held at Taiwan last year, playing for the Venezuelan national team.
The Venezuelan, Dominican born righty Felipe Paulino, recorded 13 wins and 34 losses at the Major league level, while posting an ERA of 5.22 playing 6 years in the big leagues, with a total of 7 different teams, Paulino last pitched in big leagues in year 2014 with the Chicago Whitesox, going 0-2 (11.29 ERA).
Prior to being released, Paulino pitched for the Cleveland Indians minor-league affiliate, Triple-A Columbus Clippers, posting an ERA of 2.77 with a win and a loss in 13 innings pitched (in 10 games), Paulino currently owns a career 4.55 ERA in the minor leagues, with a 30-41 record.
