Dodgers starting pitcher, Ryu Hyun-jin throws off the mound for the first time (just last Thursday) after undergoing shoulder surgery in his torn left labrum back in May of last year… completing one of his first step to be ready for the upcoming MLB season and spring training. He has his sights set ready for opening day, and he already said in a statement that he is up for it… positive results are already coming in. He also lost a lot of weight in the off-season, and back in South Korea, he continued his rehab and also did some home-cooking.
His reported 2016 MLB stats can also be seen in the video above (from ZiPS), via YTN. Ryu will appear in 22 games, with 125 1/3 innings pitched while having an ERA of 3.52 in this 2016 MLB regular season… In Ryu’s previous 2 years playing for the Dodgers, he accumulated 28 wins and 15 losses with 293 strikeouts in 344 innings pitched (14 wins and 8 losses with 154 SO in 192 innings pitched in 2013, and 14 wins and 7 losses with 139 SO in 152 innings pitched in 2014).
