The Midnight Snack – Whatever the hell day it was

Hey fam. Lots of things have happened in the world of baseball since my internet went down on Tuesday. (That’s the fun of living in the middle of nowhere, the ball gets dropped.) I know it’s not midnight, but I’m so freaking tired. Most of the big stuff’s been covered already, but let’s see what little fun morsels we can dig up, shall we?

The Dumbest Thing I’ve Read All Day:  People who know me well know my admiration of all things Maddux, and that extends to Mike Maddux, too. Well, apparently the Rangers don’t have the same appreciation that I have because they have parted ways with their longtime pitching coach.

I honestly have a photo of Greg Maddux for any and all occasion.

Why a team would want to get rid of one of the finest pitching coaches in the game is beyond me. When Mike was in Milwaukee, the only thing good about the Brewers was the quality of the pitching staff. A pitching staff that, might I remind you, had Chris Capuano as it’s star. Seriously. When Mike was in Arlington, the team had some of the lowest staff ERAs in club history.

Now that the Rangers and Mike have sailed on, I wonder who might be next in line for his services? There are so many teams looking for a pitching coach that I can’t even remember them all. Of course, Milwaukee is once again needing help in that area. Wonder if Mike would be interested in making a return to Cheeselandia? And would he bring his brother along so I can have minor heart attacks at any given moment?

Speaking of pitchers that I heart:  Today is RA Dickey’s birthday.

Happy birthday, geez.
